Creepy Times in the Community Garden Sunday, Touring Graveyards,

Events this weekend in and around Charlestown.

• More than 100 children from throughout Charlestown have attended The Creepy Halloween Carnival to be held at the Gardens for Charlestown’s community garden on the corner of Bunker Hill and Main streets on Sunday, Oct. 27th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Carnival proceeds supports Gardens for Charlestown. For $10 admission, children – costumes are encouraged but optional – have unlimited access to games, crafts, face painting, and each will receive a goody bag. Pony rides will also be available for $5 each from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and there will be fresh popcorn, cotton candy and other yummy treats for sale. Pumpkins suitable for jack-o-lanterns will be available for purchase.  A little red wagon and hay bales will be available for free photo-ops of your cuties.

• Happening Nearby: Boston By Foot explores three of downtown Boston's burying grounds and learn about the customs surrounding death and dying in Puritan New England this Sunday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. Beginning at King's Chapel Burying Ground at the corner of School and Tremont streets in Boston at 11 a.m., the stories in stone lift the veil of mystery surrounding gravestone art and how styles of gravestones changed over the years and how the poor were buried when there wasn’t room for a potter’s field. The tour proceeds rain or shine and costs $15. Purchase tickets in advance online or simply bring cash to buy one from the guide that day.
