Christmas giving events!

The Giving Tree, one of our most successful charitable events, will appear in St. Mary Church very soon. Look for Patch content soon!

As a special addition this year, the Parish will contribute to the Sisters of St. Joseph Prison Ministry Christmas Fund. Please read our article below on this important function:

Several of us in the parish are volunteers of the Sisters of St. Joseph Prison Ministry, visiting, praying and reflecting each Tuesday with women who are incarcerated. Our lives have been greatly changed because of our experience with them.

As the Christmas season approaches, we are aware of the need to pool resources so that each of the 1,000 women can receive a gift for Christmas. Because of Department of Corrections security regulations, we cannot buy gifts and bring them to the prison. Monetary donations to the ministry will enable the Chaplain to buy needed items such as combs, shampoo, soap, deodorant, calendars, lotion, tooth paste, stationary and pens in bulk and have them inspected. Once the items are approved by security, the items will be assembled in gift bags within the prison by Chaplaincy Volunteers.  In order to facilitate this process, it would be helpful to have all donations in by December 1.

Please consider donating to this important effort. Checks in any amount can be made payable to:  Sisters of St. Joseph Prison Ministry. Thank you for your consideration.
