Open For Business: USS Constitution, Bunker Hill Resume Operations After Shutdown.

USS Constitution Museum lost $115,000 due to the closing of the Navy Yard.

With the end to the partial shutdown of the US government, two prominent Charlestown landmarks will be open for business.

The USS Constitution and Bunker Hill Monument will resume operations today, Oct. 17, according to the the National Parks Service after the U.S. Congress ended 16 days of frustration and failure and passed legislation to reopen the federal government and raising the debt ceiling.

The legislation lifts the debt limit, funds the government through Jan. 15, 2014 and sets up a conference committee to try to reach agreement on broad budget questions.

And the reopening of the Navy Yard comes none too soon for the non-profit USS Constitution Museum which lost approximately $115,000 in revenue due to the shutdown.
