In observance of Veterans Day 2013, these restaurants are offering a free meal to those who have served our country.

Attention, veterans and active duty personnel: more than 50 chain restaurants want to thank you for your service by giving you a free meal this Veterans Day. And don't worry about that haircut either.

Today, Monday, Nov. 11, head to a participating restaurant with proof of military service and they'll hook you up, according to restaurantnews.com, which has compiled a list of the places serving those who have served.

Among the participating restaurants are:
  • Starbucks: Veterans, active duty military and military spouses get a free tall (12 oz.) brewed coffee.
  • Applebee's
  • Boston Market
  • California Pizza Kitchen
  • Chili's Bar & Grill
  • Einstein Brothers Bagels
  • Friendly's
  • LongHorn Steakhouse
  • Olive Garden
  • Outback
  • Red Lobster
  • TGI Friday's

Veterans will also get free admission to national parks across the country today.

And Great Clips – there's one Boston near the Pru – will give veterans a free hair cut on Nov. 11. If you can't get your hair cut on Nov. 11, they'll give you a coupon to give to a veteran for a free hair cut from Nov. 11 to Dec. 31. Details at  http://www.greatclips.com/promotions/veterans-day

Offers and participation may vary from location to location, so it's best to call ahead to confirm.
