 WHAT: Community Wellness Offering

 In the widely acclaimed new
Charlestown facility devoted to patient renewal, independence and performance,
nutrition is an important component for both staff and patients.  For two weeks this month, the pedal-powered juice
cart run by LifeForce Juice will educate and inspire the population by offering
free samples of Wheat grass juice, vegetable juices, such as “Beet Poet” and “The
Big O” and smoothies, such as La La Berry, Choco-licious and Orange Creme.  One customer remarked, “I never knew
vegetables could taste this good!” Bringing wellness, energy and excellent
nutrition is the goal of this community service offering orchestrated with
Spaulding for their community.

 Friday, September 20, Whole
Foods, as the daily cart sponsor, will offer visitors additional information
about juicing, as well as discount juice
cards
to the Juice & Smoothie Bars featured in all new Whole Foods
markets, including the new Charlestown Location.

 WHEN:           Weekdays,
September 9-20, 2013, 8:00am-5:00pm

 WHERE:        Spaulding
Rehabilitation Hospital, Charlestown Navy Yards, Dining Facility Area

WHY:             A community service offering to bring
education, awareness and a taste of great nutrition to a stressed, overworked
segment of our population:  the
healthcare community.  When people
experience the taste of organic, locally sourced, fresh-pressed juices and smoothies,
transformation begins:  They seek out
ways to add more nutritious fruits and vegetables into their diet, they choose
fresh over processed food options, and they often experience increased energy,
improved wellness and enhanced mental clarity.

Admission:

This event is open to the
Spaulding Community and to local residents.
