Berklee Presents Free Summer Concerts in Charlestown Navy Yard

Boston, MA, July 15, 2013  – Thursdays in July, up-and-coming Berklee musicians will perform free concerts at Charlestown Navy Yard, a part of Berklee Summer in the City, presented by Natixis Global Asset Management. The concerts will be held on Thursdays in the month of July at 6:00 p.m., beginning July 11 and concluding July 25, weather permitting. Charlestown Navy Yard is a 15-minute walk from North Station, either over the Charles River locks or over the Washington Street Bridge. You can also take the 93 bus from Haymarket, or if you are coming from other points, the commuter boat is another option, which leaves on the :00 and :30 from Long Wharf near the Aquarium.

July 18 - Jen Starsinic

Jen Starsinic is an old-time fiddler, singer, and award-winning songwriter who won second place in the 2011 BMI John Lennon Scholarship contest for her song “It Fell.”  In addition to her solo pursuits, Starsinic tours as the fiddler for the David Mayfield Parade; contributes original material, vocals, fiddle, and guitar for the band Lookout Mountain; and has appeared on stage with Darol Anger, Bruce Molsky, Matt Glaser, Kathy Mattea, and Ivan Lins.

July 25 - Jacinta Clusellas Group

Jacinta Clusellas performs in different styles and brings together jazz and Argentinean folk music. She has performed at the Boston Book Festival, Berklee’s 2012 Convocation and Women Musicians Network concerts, and with the 10-piece all-female ensemble, Women of the World. In spring 2013, Clusellas received Berklee’s John LaPorta Award for outstanding musicianship.  Jacinta Clusellas Group blends sounds from Argentina in a unique, contemporary context, combining Latin grooves with jazz influences.
