Jack Kelly Talks Campaign, Park Renovations

The local candidate stopped by Doherty Playground on Thursday, July 18.

Boston City Council candidate Jack Kelly joined city officials and neighbors in celebrating the renovations at Doherty Playground on Thursday afternoon.

"This is wonderful," Kelly said of the park renovations, which include new play equipment, surfacing and a splash pad. "A lot of people worked hard."

Kelly, a Charlestown resident running for one of four at-large City Council seats, said he used to play hockey nearby and remembers when the area was called "Bunker Hill Park."
