Top Stories: Goodbye, Alleged Dog Poisoner Held

Notable stories from the week of Sept. 24-28.

We know it can be easy to fall behind on the news. If you fell behind this week, here are five stories we think you should look at:

Charlestown man charged with tax evasion, helping Suffolk Downs bettors: Gary Boyar, 53, was charged with corruptly endeavoring to impede the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), filing a false income tax return, and two counts of tax evasion in an indictment returned on Sept. 13, 2012.

Goodbye, Charlestown: This last one comes from me. I announced Monday that Friday (the day on which I wrote and scheduled this post) would be my last day. I’m not moving directly on to another full-time job. Instead, I’m taking a run at freelancing. You can keep up with me at mattmcaseywrites.com and gistpodcast.com. You can also look for my byline in local publications. With any luck, you’ll see it soon.
