Photo of the Day: Monday, April 30

Today's photo comes from Mary Walsh, who had this to say about it: "Never thought I'd have my own personal 'Green Monster.' Still a work-in-progress.... Another floor and 'sky boxes' coming soon. Wish they'd hurry up with the scoreboard."

OMG Mary! I'm so sorry this is happening to you. We need a moratorium on development in Charlestown!!

The bright spot in this development is that it's only two buildings not the intended three. I've been sitting on my yoga deck trying to become "one" with its present green state figuring Skinnerian theory will kick in and the building will visually recede once the siding is on. I sorely miss the quince, pussy willows and lilac I "borrowed" from my former neighbors. Going forward, it's a design challenge, for sure, but in a few years, my garden will have successfully returned to its former, private state when seen from ground level. I'll sign up for the garden tour in 2017.

Unfortunately the writing was on "the wall" that this underdeveloped lot would eventually get built out
