How Tall is Charlestown Compared to Other Neighborhoods?

Did you know that the Bunker Hill Monument stands 22 stories tall?

We can argue whether or not the Prudential Tower is an attractive structure—it isn't, but you're allowed to disagree—but Back Bay's Hancock Place stands, unarguably, as the Boston's tallest building.

It also notches in as the 50th-tallest building in the country. The Prudential Tower stands as the country's 77th tallest.

But how does Charlestown's tallest structure fare when compared to other Boston neighborhoods' tallest structures?

That 22-story gleaming white obelisk we all know so well lands Charlestown just below the middle of the pack, according to data we analyzed from Boston's most recent assessment.

Check the list below to see how high the other Boston neighborhoods reach.

How tall is St. Francis De Sales? It's supposed to be one of the tallest structures.

That's a good question. I'll see what I can find out.

"The spire (of the St Francis De Sales church) is 181 feet high [18 stories], towering even above the monument of Bunker Hill", however the Bunker Hill Monument is 221 ft [22 stories]. http://www.stfrancisdesalescharlestown.com/tp50/page.asp?id=134915 http://tps.cr.nps.gov/nhl/detail.cfm?ResourceId=65&ResourceType=Structure
