Help Charlestown Boost Its Voting Power

A new, non-partisan Facebook group is urging residents in Charlestown to get out the vote.

Today is Wednesday, Oct. 12. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. Some of your neighbors are already working to make sure Charlestown gets out of the vote in the 2012 election. Want to help them out? "Like" their page on Facebook -- Vote Charlestown. You can also read more about what they're doing . 

2. News from the -- following last week's -- keeps streaming in. I got word from John Tobin, a member of the center's board, that this has been postponed until January 2012.

3. Wondering what happened with all of those Occupy Boston on Monday night? We finally got a count from Boston Police. They report 141 individuals and all were charged with unlawful assembly or trespassing. 

4. Save the date: 5th annual pumpkin contest is coming on Oct. 29. Bring your carved, painted or decorated pumpkin to the cafe between 2 and 2:30 p.m. to win.
