Toonie September 20, 2012 at 10:01 PM
See...Your perception proves that you that you will never know what it's like. Your perception and your utter stupidity, actually. Can't forget that part!
Blackie76 September 21, 2012 at 01:51 AM
You people who think that Johnies is the same price as Whole Foods you are sadly mistaken and the poor "minorities" that have come to live here will have a hard time shopping especially if they don't drive its hard enough dealing with the hardships and nonsense that goes on in the "bricks" without having to travel to a store 1 2 or 3 cities away to just feed there family. Also as burga so crudely stated the forced intergration and yes it was forced has changed the great town that it was and the so called sell outs found a way to get ahead in a world were affirmative action can take a job away from a white person who is more qualified for the job just because of the color of there skin. I didn't want to comment but a point has to be made. I am proud and honorable TOWNIE and will die knowing that this town had given me skills far beyond any classroom could teach me. Good and bad without regrets. The old CTOWN will be missed and im sorry my children could not grow up were and like I did.
Blackie76 September 21, 2012 at 01:54 AM
Very sorry to hear about your grandmother Aileen hope she is ok and anyone else who was involved in this accident.
Owen September 21, 2012 at 04:18 AM
Thanks, Joseph. Chad, I've been "victimized" by someone with "dark skin". Funny enough, I've been "victimized" by someone with light skin. It came with the territory where I grew up. But guess what? I grew up to not embrace ignorance.
Owen September 21, 2012 at 04:23 AM
I can't help but think that I contributed to the hateful back and forth argument that is going on right now. I truly hope that all involved with this incident are ok. I apologize for initially posting what I consider a snarky comment, which I removed, and for the hateful remarks that followed from other readers.
Just a person! September 21, 2012 at 12:51 PM
I truly hope there were no life threating injuries, and everyone involved is fine. As far as all the negative comments on here, how do you get from a car accident, to racist slurs, the price of food and yuppies and townies?? You people make me sick, no matter what the topic, you change it to Townie against Toonie Get a life! No matter Townie or Toonie , yuppie , or whatever, you have to live one!
Kerin Scales September 21, 2012 at 12:58 PM
Joseph, big guy slingin' big words but you're not too bright yourself. Instead of coming on here talking about how the people who moved out of Charlestown made a "choice" and "sold out", I'd google gentrification and "read some posts to educate yourself". You yuppies really love coming on here condescending to everyone about a town they've known MUCH longer than you, and then you wonder why everyone hates you.
Joseph September 21, 2012 at 01:50 PM
Kerin - Burga's racists comments and how he was forced to move based on the color of people’s skin color, and you're calling me out? Excuse me? What are you talking about?? We’re talking about car accidents, not paying attention while driving, no skid marks, etc., then Burga, the racist, decided to chime on issues having nothing to do with the car accident. Before you start defending your boy Burga, you should consider the posts this ass clown started with. You're right, he made a choice...a choice based on being a racist. He's a coward, and based on your defense of him, you are too. Couldn't afford to live here? Funny, I see plenty of born and raised residents still living in Charlestown. How the hell was I condescending? Because I was talking to a closed-minded, racist pig that I have ZERO respect for? Actually, maybe you are right...I don't respect bigots. I've lived here since early 1997. I was not raised here. My experiences stem from 1997 to present day, and have learned a great deal since setting foot in Charlestown. I don't have a problem with people born and raised here. My problem is with stupid, uneducated a$$holes like yourself, that bitch and moan and hate everyone that isn’t cut from the same cloth. This conversation had absolutely nothing to do with what your comment implied. Efffff you you dimwit. Now go get your shine box and shut the efff up. A$$hole. Again, hope everyone is healing from yesterdays accident.
Nora September 21, 2012 at 02:55 PM
Joseph your posts are the best! They are always right on. Single? You are a riot! WholeFoods accepts EBT cards too. You'll all be just fine and will be able to continue to leech off the system. And why should us "yuppies" have to commute into the city to work while you all sit on your stoops and do nothing? That's why we are taking over Charlestown.
Jay K. September 21, 2012 at 04:55 PM
Good on you, Owen. It's nice to see someone own up to a mistake. I agree JAP. Seriously, what the hell does a car accident have to do with Townies and Toonies? And no one even knows what happened. Can't it just be an accident? When I was 5, my mom stepped away from the car for a few seconds and my little brother and I threw it into reverse and took out the neighbor's garage. This could've been anything.
Joseph September 21, 2012 at 05:14 PM
Nora - I'm happily taken, thank you though! I'm disappointed that it even needed to be addressed. Oh well. Jay, imagine if that happened today? She'd be arrested for child neglect and probably sued for stupid reason like mental anguish. Sometimes, $hit happens. I agree.
Kathy Giordano September 21, 2012 at 05:39 PM
Matt , What is wrong with you to allow this discourse to go on? Those who contributed to it - grow up. Charlestown is no longer the town we were fortunate to grow up in, but it is still a wonderful place to call home. Everyone who calls it home today has made it that way. There are good and bad people in every walk of life, and to be honest, I'm saddened that you have represented yourselves as "Townies" and then went on to share such hatred. Grow up! The past is past. We only have today to make a better tomorrow. Isn't that what we learned from the good nuns when we were kids?

Larry Fine September 22, 2012 at 02:45 PM
Ya if you dont like it here, move to Chelsea!
Kathy Giordano September 22, 2012 at 02:52 PM
There is no one who could say that I don't love Charlestown, Larry Fine aka Joe Kelly?
Joe Dingleberry September 22, 2012 at 03:07 PM
Does Chelsea have a Patch?
Kathy Giordano September 22, 2012 at 03:14 PM
No Patch, JK.
Lisa McGoff Collins September 22, 2012 at 03:25 PM
as usual Aileen, people just like to spew stupid things on the patch lately, I learned that from the Durty Harry mess. I hope Ruthie is Ok, and that people just let this go and let the women heal. Accidents do happen, that is why they are called accidents. Again, I hope Ruthie is doing well.
Joe Dingleberry September 22, 2012 at 08:41 PM
Larry: looks like you touched a nerve. Oh well when your out your out.
karen scales September 23, 2012 at 11:45 AM
Joseph,You just told Chad to direct his hate toward Burga, not Owen because Burga,s the racist ,What are you you doing ,calling a young girl you know nothing about a 'dimwit' 'efff you' and shut the effff A$$hole?NICE-------
Marianne Faithfull September 23, 2012 at 12:38 PM
Burga, I'll have some fries and a Sprite with my cheeseburga!
Medford Resident September 23, 2012 at 04:29 PM
I happily live in Charlestown & guess what, if you can't afford it, go get the skills or education that will allow you to! This is America, you can stay beaten down and rely on the 'poor me' excuse all you want, let me know where that gets you! Hope no one got hurt in regards to the crash...
mm September 24, 2012 at 04:34 AM
This is absolutely disgusting and needs to be taken down. This was an accident and someone was hurt. Grow up and stop entertaining yourself with ridiculous slurs on here. All taking part are a disgrace. Matt or whom ever is in charge of this there is freedom of speech and there is going to far. This is going to far and what is being written is a disgrace. Aileen I hope your family is ok.
Mr Proposal September 24, 2012 at 05:10 AM
Kathy G. You sold your house and left the town for Chelsea (on the hill) If your no longer a resident living in Charlestown why are you so concerned about the town that you left. And why are you hosting Charlestown Live. Just wondering.
Kathy Giordano September 24, 2012 at 05:46 AM
You know a lot about me but are afraid/coward to use your correct name. So, I feel I don't have to answer any of your questions. Come forward and I'd be more than happy to talk with you.
mm September 24, 2012 at 01:03 PM
Mr proposal are you kidding me!!! Kathy does so much for this town and continues to show the good side of this great place. Where she lives does not matter one bit. Grow up and learn respect. Stop hiding behind your computer and writing such ridiculous nonsense. People on here have a lot of nerve to continue writing ignorance just to stir up drama, which is not what this site is for...save it for your facebook!
Obscured By Clouds September 24, 2012 at 01:31 PM
Tedeschi's - half the Townies are trying to rob it while the other half buy dinner there.
PattyK September 25, 2012 at 01:16 AM
Just seeing this...no, my husband Joe Kell is not Larry Fine...and he doesn't care where u live or what you're doing, but now you pissed me off by accusing him of being this person, so you owe him an apology.
Kathy Giordano September 25, 2012 at 01:53 AM
PattyK, If I owe your husband an apology, then here it is.
