Spaulding Rehabilitation Makes U.S. News' Latest Top Hospitals List

The Boston facility was ranked No. 6 in the county.

Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in the Charlestown Navy Yard has been listed as one of the top 17 rehabilitation facilities across the country by U.S. News and World Report.

The Boston hospital, located at 300 First Ave., was ranked No. 6 in the latest report. The facilities listed are considered "among the best for challenging cases and procedures" and were named by at least 5 percent of the rehabilitation specialists who responded to U.S. News surveys in 2011, 2012 and 2013, according to the U.S. News website.

Another 162 hospitals received nominations from one or more physicians, according to the report.

Spaulding received a “strong” rating, with 26.3 percent of specialists surveyed naming the hospital as among the best for difficult cases.

The hospital recently opened a new state-of-the-art facility in the Charlestown Navy Yard. A community open house and health fair is scheduled this Saturday, July 20 from 1-5 p.m.
