The Charlestown Neighborhood Council has opened the 2013-2014 Mitigation process. Applications are available from all CNC members and the documents are posted on the CNC website.
This year the council will award approximately $100,000 to Charlestown non-profit organizations.
The instructions provide details on the process and requirements for eligibility. There will be a tutorial on Sept. 12 for ALL applicants at the Legion Hall, 25 Adams St.
Applications are due on Friday, Sept. 27, with a US Mail post-marked by 5pm.
Since 2003, the council has had the privilege of distributing mitigation funds to Charlestown’s most worthy, non-profit organizations.
This funding, originally secured as a result of real estate development opportunities created with the removal of elevated highway ramps and rapid transit structures crisscrossing City Square, has been the source of hundreds of thousands of dollars directly benefiting Charlestown’s youth organizations, the elderly and underprivileged, community beautification initiatives, and the arts.
