Spaulding Charlestown Welcomes Red Sox World Series Trophy

Honored Spaulding's role in helping Boston Marathon bombing survivors.

The historic run to the championship by the 2013 Boston Red Sox energized the entire New England region. Following the tragic attack on the Boston Marathon, the Red Sox organization and their players were some of the most visible supporters for those impacted and dedicated their season to the survivors. 

Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital was one of the key healthcare providers for survivors and their families, treated 32 survivors with many continuing to receive care on an outpatient basis.

To honor Spaulding’s role the response and to thank the staff of Spaulding, the Red Sox arranged for the 2013 World Series Trophy to visit the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlestown on Friday Jan. 10. 

More than 600 staff, patients and families were able to get photographed with the trophy and show their Red Sox pride.
