Yoga for Parents and Their Youngest, Cheese Eating Club Meets, Trash Pick-Up On Schedule

Events in Charlestown today

• Unlike some neighborhoods in Boston, the King holiday did not delay trash collection in Charlestown; it's the same ol' pick up schedule this week.

Here are two events involving yoga and parents with their infants. Ommmm

Happy Baby Yoga for youngsters between 6 and 18 months old will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Charlestown Branch Library, 179 Main St. Taught by Annika from YogaPlay, she uses techniques from Itsy Bitsy Yoga as well as other programs to help caregivers and parents spend meaningful time with their babies. Annika supplies mats, so just bring yourself and your little one.

Happy Baby Yoga for Newborns runs from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the branch library. Also taught by Annika, this is for babies up to 6 months old. Parents and caregivers will learn to gently stretch babies' muscles while interacting and bonding. Mats will be provided.

Whole Foods Charlestown is holding the first meeting of its Fromagerie Club this year at 6 p.m. at its store at 51 Austin St. at 6 p.m. The meeting is perfect for those wanting to expand upon or just start their cheese knowledge. Join the staff for a sampling and, as always, a free goodie bag.

• On this day in 1789, the first American novel, "The Power of Sympathy or the Triumph of Nature Founded in Truth," is printed in Boston.
