An Intro to Latin American Culture at the Charlestown Branch Library

What is happening today in Charlestown.

1. Today's forecast: Breezy and cool. A shower is possible early then a mix of clouds and sun with the high reaching 66 degrees. It will be a bit windy from onshore at 15 to 25 mph.

2. La Piñata: An Introduction to Latin American Culture will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Charlestown Branch of the Boston Public Library, 179 Main St. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, La Piñata, a Boston-based organization dedicated to promoting Latin American culture, will provide children and teens (grades K-8) a general introduction to Latin America through a variety of art, games, and music activities. Space is limited; please register with the children’s librarian.

3. The Charlestown branch of the Boston Public Library, 179 Main St., it's all aboard for Story Time Station as pre-schoolers ride the reading railroad in search of some great stories, songs, and more. All ages and groups are welcome to this fun activity designed to get children excited about reading. Stay and play until 10:45 a.m. Please arrive on time as the story time room will be closed when story time starts.

4. The Charlestown Boys & Girls Club provides after-school care and a safe place for young people ages 6-18. Members may take part in a wide range of activities, some of which include: art, computer graphics, dance, tutoring, swimming, music, and many others.
