Five Things: Preservation Society and John Connolly

With a League of Women Voters meeting and Charlestown Live.

1. Get your questions in. We’re going to have a Live Chat with City Councilor John Connolly today, and we’d like to know what you’d like to ask him. We’ve already gotten a couple of good questions. Add yours.

2. Preservation Society annual meeting. We gather that there was some trouble with circulating this information through other channels, so we’re trying to get the word out: The Charlestown Preservation Society invites members and people interested in CPS to its Annual Meeting on today at 6 pm at the StoveFactory Gallery, 523 Medford Street.

3 Charlestown Neighborhood Council Precinct 5 Meeting. The Charlestown Neighborhood Council Precinct 5 will have a public meeting with a representative of the Boston Traffic Department to discuss changing the direction of traffic flow on Allston Street, and related traffic and parking issues.  The meeting will take place at St. Francis de Sales Church Lower Hall tonight at 7:00 p.m.

4. Charlestown Live! This week's Charlestown Live program will be a repeat of the June 14th show featuring host Danny Ryan with guests Rev. Daniel Mahoney, Chief Chaplain of the Boston Fire Department and pastor of St. Francis de Sales Parish and Bill Boyle, retired BFD Firefighter. The show can be seen live today at 6:30 pm on BNN-TV channel 9, RCC channel 15 or on the web at www.bnntv.org. The program is repeated on the same channels and web site on Saturday at 8 pm and Monday at 10:30 am. For more information, contact Kathy Giordano at kathygio@verizon.net

5. League of Women Voters meet. Join the League of Women Voters of Boston for our 93rd annual meeting. Carol Hardy-Fanta, Director of the Women in Politics Program at UMass Boston, will speak on "Social Media in Political Campaigns."
