Gretchen - Do you realize that all you can ever point out is Fox News? Why is it the EVERY media outlet speaks the truth, yet the fact that ONE other news station has a different opinion or stance, they are weird? My guess, you're stuck watching MCNBC and CNN. Good grief. I think it's you that needs to expand your circle of news programs you lemming.

Another useless comment that Andrew Sylvia will delete. Shoot, you must have been picked last in every sport, huh?

Is this a serious article? A job well done Nate. You guys are stretching for articles, huh?

I'll take a stab in the dark - It's been several weeks since The Patch decided to stop posting awesome articles such as the history lessons Helen wrote about. I've been sitting back, watching with amusement how that decision has turned what was once several updated articles pertaining to Charlestown, now become a sounding board for political hogwash. And we're forced to hear this garbage because comments from surrounding towns override anything that is posted locally. What a wise decision Becca and Andrew (sarcasm).

Two things I've learned - 1) The Patch is more concerned about pageviews than keeping the town it covers informed, 2)The Patch could give two poohs about Charlestown and the happenings, both good and bad, within our boarders. Ever since Kristy got up and left, the reporting on here has gone in the toilet.

I was talking with friends at a recent BBQ as to when was the last time they got ANY useful information from this site. The resounding answer was they haven't. When is the last time you've seen anyone post anything local? I mean, what's the point? Our comments are hidden by the ridiculous multi-town comment section that pushes our comments down the list. Yeah, that makes sense.

As I've previously stated, at least we have The Bridge. G'day

Where are all the Charlestown articles? Why isn't the Patch reporting and posting on Charlestown events? Why am I forced to read comments from surrounding towns?

Bring back the Charlestown Patch!! Get with it Becca!!

Another article that can only be found by viewing comments. Nothing to be found on the Charlestown Patch. What happened to the reporting in Charlestown?

Andrew Sylvia reminds me of that one kid who always got picked last for dodgeball. While most of the comments are foolish, including mine, and have NOTHING to do with the article posted, Andrew feels the need to censor these comments. 99.9% of us are over 18 and don't need censorship. You are overstepping your power and are ruining, excuse me, ruined this website.

Even better, stop allowing comments from outside cities being posted in the Charlestown Patch. In the months since my last post, I have yet to see one Charlestown comment in posted. Driving away your target audience? Yes, you are.

If the editors can't see that they have lost "Local Voices" within the Charlestown community, you are blind and obviously don't give two poohs about the towns you're supposed to report on.

I give Andrew Sylvia and the entire Patch Editorial staff a big, fat F!!! At least The Bridge keeps us up to date with the happenings within Charlestown. G'day

@Predator - I'm no fan of Senator Pocahontas, but if you read what the Feds are doing to the New England fishing industry, I think you'd have a different opinion on this. I have a very good friend who is a commercial fishermen, and it's scary to hear what these guys are up against.

This is a perfect example of men and women who WANT to work, but are UNABLE to because of the environmental wackos and an overreaching federal government that uses faulty and outdated science to determine the state and health of the New England fishing industry.

Google search some of these topics: Catch Shares, Commercial draggers fishing Stellwagen Bank, NOAA Admin Jane Lubchenko, National Marine Fisheries Service, and the Reduction of Quotas. I'll try and get some exact links for you from my friend. Believe me, you'll be astonished as to what the Feds are doing to the centuries old mom & pop business.

Fill spray bottle with water, add some white vinegar. Now you have a "green" all surface cleaner. Works great on stainless appliances.
