Another Major Project Proposed for TD Garden Area

A development company this week filed plans to build a mixed-use building at the entrance to the arena and North Station that would feature retail and office space, a hotel and up to 500 residential units.

Just three months after the city approved a 38-story mixed-use development that will be connected to TD Garden, a second major project has been proposed in that area of Boston's West End neighborhood, also with plans to connect to the arena. Developers Boston Properties Inc. and Delaware North Companies Inc., through the Boston Garden Development Corporation, filed a letter of intent this week with the Boston Redevelopment Authority seeking to construct a mix of retail and office space, hotel rooms and up to 500 residential units on about 2.8 acres of land at 80 Causeway Street. Photo of the Day: Meeting Mickey

A daily image of life in Charlestown for Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Four-year-old Charlestown native Connor Woods visited with Rock Star Mickey Mouse from "Disney On Ice Presents 'Rockin' Ever After'" at the North End's DCR Steriti Memorial Rink on Jan. 29. From the looks of it, Woods is practicing to make the Bruins team, but his mom Erin Woods said Mickey Mouse is his favorite. Mickey was in Boston to promote his all new show, "Rockin' Ever After," which plays TD Garden during February school vacation week (Feb. 15-24).  Got a great photograph of Charlestown? AvalonBay’s project shows a considerable increase in the number of residences from a previous proposal—put forward by Boston Garden Development Corporation and approved in 2006—that called for 363 condominiums on the site. Though approved, the former project did not go forward because of economic conditions at the time, …
