Check out this list of local runners who will be running the 2013 Boston Marathon.
Whether they're running to raise money for cancer research, in memory of a loved one, to stay in shape or just because, more than 80 Charlestown residents are expected to hit the streets today, joining about 20,000 runners in the 117th annual Boston Marathon. Considered to be the world's oldest annual marathon, the Boston Marathon is organized each year by the Boston Athletic Association, sponsored by John Hancock Financial Services, and stretches 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to the finish line in Boston, at Copley Square. When there's a world-class road race headed right through your neighborhood, expect to see some delays in your public transportation.
