Photos: Bright Horizons Celebrates Dr. Seuss

The Charlestown preschool and daycare program hosted a birthday party for the late children's book author.

Bright Horizons preschool at the Scrafft Center in Charlestown recently honored the late Dr. Seuss with a birthday celebration held Tuesday, March 5 (Seuss' actual birthday was March 2). Toddlers and their parents participated in Dr. Seuss-themed crafts and story times and tried some green eggs and ham as part of the event.  Bright Horizons is currently accepting registrations for preschool, for ages 2 years 9 months up through 5 years, according to Center Director Sarah Antin. Full- and half-day programs are available. For registration forms and more information, visit the website or call the center at 617-241-8752.

'10 Fat Turkeys' and Other Thanksgiving Reads

Celebrate next week's holiday by reading some of these themed books.

Although it's not as famous as Halloween or Christmas, the Thanksgiving holiday does have its fair share of literature dedicated to it. Whether you're young and still reading picture books or an adult, we have a little something for everyone in our Patch Reads book list. So grab your turkey and enjoy some books as side dishes! Note: The Charlestown library branch is tentatively scheduled to reopen after renovations on Nov. 26. In the mean time, you can visit one of Boston Public Library's other branches to pick up a copy of the books below. Young Readers Editor's Note: Many of these books were chosen by teachers as part of the Teaching Blog Addict's Top Picks for Thanksgiving Books for Kids. Teen and Adult Readers
