Brown and Warren: Is It Just Politics As Usual?

It’s been an interesting week in the U.S. Senate Race between Democrat Elizabeth Warren and incumbent Republican Scott Brown.

First it was revealed that Harvard University once touted Warren’s marginal Native American heritage as proof of their faculty’s diversity. That story was followed up with another revealing one that Warren had listed herself as a minority professor between 1986 and 1995 in the Association of American Law Schools desk book, a major reference for legal professors. On Tuesday it was revealed that Brown, who ran for office vowing to kill President Obama’s health care law (and who has since voted three times to repeal it) took advantage of a key provision in it: the provision that allows him to keep his elder daughter on his congressional health insurance plan. Meanwhile, both candidates downplayed their wealth this week as they revealed their …

My worst dental experience is with Gordon Robert J DDS in Malden (10 Holden St). The receptionist kept losing my paperwork, and the dentist did unnecessary procedures that were not covered by insurance, which I found out later getting the bill through the mail.   more ›

UPDATED: Stolen Stoneham Car Fished Out of Water [VIDEO]

Vehicle entered the water some time overnight. No passengers inside.

Boston police and fire responded to 50 Terminal St. in Charlestown this morning after a passerby around 9 a.m. noticed a car in the water. Fire Chief Steve Dunbar said that a dive team has checked the vehicle and found it empty. The car must have come down the ramp "with some force," he said, but may have floated further away from the ramp overnight. One tow truck tried to remove the vehicle, Dunbar said, but wasn't large enough to do the job. A larger tow truck arrived around 10 a.m. and pulled the Nissan Altima out of the water around 10:30 a.m. The chief also found a spent shotgun shell at the scene. At 8:37 a.m. Tuesday, Stoneham Police received a report of a 2005 white Nissan Ultima that was stolen from 122 Main St., according to Lt. …

I'm another vote for "All I Want For Christmas Is You," though I'm less discerning. I'll take any version, only because it's so catchy. Another song I think is worth mentioning is Wham!'s "Last Christmas," though I'm not sure if I actually -like- it...but, again, catchy. A song I do genuinely like is Lennon's "Happy Xmas/War Is Over." When I worked at a program for adults with special needs that …   more ›
