Feeling like your healthy goals for the New Year have slipped away? Here are some suggestions to get you back on track.

Around this time of year, people start re-evaluating their New Year’s resolutions. They either are still on track and feeling great or they’ve lost their resolve and are feeling frustrated and defeated. One of the common goals set at the beginning of the year is around weight loss. As a yoga teacher, I get questions about yoga’s effectiveness for weight loss. People want to know how many calories they’ll burn, is hot yoga more effective for weight loss than unheated yoga or how many times per week do you need to do yoga to lose weight. I usually say something like this: “Yoga, done regularly can be an effective tool for managing your weight. If you can get to a studio class three times per week and supplement that with 20 to 30 minutes at …

It’s soon to be a new year and, for many, that means a new set of personal resolutions. They may be in the form of grandiose gestures—a vow to be a better spouse, for example—or be tied to a specific act, such as no longer putting off reading that book about procrastination. Do You Know Where Your New Year's Resolutions Are?

It's the middle of the year. Summer is a great time to do a little check-in with yourself.

Ah, summer. Time to relax, eat, drink and repeat. Did you realize that July means the year is half over? I know, hardly an inspiring thought. Actually, I like to think of this time of year as an opportunity to get back on track with things that I set out to do throughout the year. In the summer, things tend to naturally slow down as people are focused a bit more on relaxing. Because of this, there may be more space for you to take time to think about things you wanted to do this year and get back on track with figuring out how to make those things happen.
