One lucky Charlestown resident is more than $1 million richer after winning the Massachusetts State Lottery "Winner Green" instant game earlier this month. William Killoran spent just $10 on the $2.5 million winning holiday instant ticket, which he purchased at Get-N-Go, 152 Highland Ave., Somerville. The shop will receive a $25,000 commission on the sale, according to the state lottery website. "Killoran selected the cash option on the top prize and received a one-time lump sum payment of $1,625,000, less taxes. He plans on sharing the prize with his family," according to MassLottery.com.

Although no one in Massachusetts hit all six numbers to win the full $579 million Powerball prize, two people in Boston have each won $1 million. The two winning tickets sold in Boston for $1 million were purchased at the 7-Eleven store at 1306 Washington St. in the South End and the City Convenience store at 23 Beacon St. There were two grand prize winners Wednesday night, according to the Powerball website. Neither was sold in Massachusetts. There were four $1 million winning tickets in the state. Besides the two tickets sold in Boston, two more were sold in Southbridge and Rockland.
