Townies Lead Malden Catholic to Super 8 Glory

ESPN Boston names Brendan Collier as "Mr. Hockey."

The Malden Catholic Lancers locked in their second-straight Super 8 title on Sunday with a 3-1 win over BC High—and did so with the help of four Townies. Nolan Carrier, Brendan Collier, Pauly Myers, and Pat Wrenn posed together after the game for the above photo, but the trophy in front of them isn't their only honor this season. ESPN Boston named Collier, who they called "one of the most dynamic hockey talents in all of New England during the last couple of years," as this year's "Mr. Hockey." Additionally, Collier and Myers, along with fellow Townie Conal Lynch who plays for Boston Latin, have been nominated for Massachusetts State Hockey Coaches High School All Star Teams.

Video: Brendan Collier on His Future Game

Brendan Collier shares his thoughts on his choice to go to Boston University, and play more hockey.

Charlestown native Brendan Collier really likes hockey. A new development it is not, as he’s played in Charlestown since he could fit into skates. The Malden Catholic junior and hockey forward has selected Boston University as his college of choice for 2013 and looks forward to putting on a Terriers jersey. I caught up with Collier outside the Agganis Arena, his future house of worship, to get his thoughts on senior year and hockey under the Terriers flag.
