Timeline for One Fund Boston Distribution Process

Claims will be accepted May 15 to June 15.

One Fund Boston administrator Kenneth Feinberg led a Town Hall meeting on Monday to discuss how funds will be distributed to victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. Feinberg, who helped distribute the private funds for victims of 9/11, the Aurora, CO theater shooting and the Virginia Tech shooting, said the final protocol for fund distribution will be completed by May 15.  The One Fund Boston currently has $28 million pledged, with $11 million in cash, Feinberg said in a publicly broadcast meeting from the Copley Public Library. Feinberg reiterated that it was possible the families of the four victims could be given a million dollars. Fund Established To Help Charlestown Family Pay Son's Funeral Expenses

Individuals can help the relatives of Clinton MacDougall by donating online.

A Charlestown family coping with the sudden death of their son and brother is in need of some community support to pay for funeral costs. Clinton MacDougall, 29, died on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2012, after struggling with addiction, according to friend Shannon Lundin. Lundin, who works as community outreach coordinator for the Charlestown Substance Abuse Coalition, set up a web page to raise funds to help MacDougall's family during this difficult time. “Clinton was a a young, loyal, loving man who had struggles but always showed the true meaning of family and friendship,” Lundin wrote on the web page. Townie Santa Looking for Volunteer Elves

Volunteers needed to assist with food preparations, packing, delivery and clean-up on Dec. 23 for program that serves Charlestown elderly.

“Townie Santa” will be visiting many of Charlestown’s elderly, needy shut-ins on Sunday, Dec. 23, to deliver Christmas gifts, a gift certificate for groceries and a turkey dinner.  Santa may be any one of several dozen neighbors who will devote this morning to sharing the spirit of Christmas with those who have difficulty getting up and about. Delivery of the baskets will begin at noon from James W. Conway Bunker Hill Post 26, The American Legion, 23 Adams St. People with cars as well as those without are needed for this important task. Those who do not have their own transportation will be paired with a driver to assist with the delivery.  It takes just a short time commitment, and all deliveries are usually done by 1 p.m. In addition, a …

Give Back This Holiday Season in Charlestown

In celebration of a new tradition, "Giving Tuesday," Patch offers this list of places that are accepting donations or volunteers.

Charlestown Salon Partnering with Toys for Tots

Hair Cuttery will serve as a drop-off spot for toy donations during the holiday season.
