October 11: A person reported that their Cannon Power Shot camera had been stolen from their office on Terminal Street. October 14: An officer was stopped on Cook Street. The victim reported that someone had thrown a black folding knife through the drivers side window of his motor vehicle. An individual was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. October 14: A person reported that their Schwinn bicycle was stolen for the second time out of her garage. Surveillance videos will be reviewed for this investigation.

City employee James Mansfield was arraigned in Charlestown District Court today.
James Mansfield was held on $20,000 cash bail at his arraignment in Charlestown District Court on charges that he possessed child pornography on his laptop computer and a portable flash drive, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said. According to the press release from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office, Mansfield must reside only at his family home if he posts bail. He must have no unsupervised contact with his children and no contact at all with any other children under the age of 18. He must be fitted with a GPS monitoring device within 24 hours of his release and report to probation officers three times per week. He must also refrain from using alcohol or drugs, must abide by a curfew of 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m…

James Mansfield, 47 of Charlestown was arrested on Friday and charged with possession of child pornography. According to BPD News, his arrest came after an Internet investigation revealed Mansfield was actively engaging in graphically sexual chats and exchanging photographs of boys in various stages of undress. Boston Police executed a search warrant at Mansfield’s home and discovered evidence on his personal computer. Mansfield was placed on Administrative leave effective immediately from his executive assistant position in the Boston Transportation Department. Officers were conducting a traffic control detail at Charlestown High School, conducting random vehicle registry check. The officers ran the plates of a 2003 Black Ford Explorer and pulled the car over. When the officers asked to see the driver’s license, the operator stated that their license was suspended. The operator then produced a Texas license, which appeared to be valid. Officers ran the license through the Massachusetts registry and found that the license was suspended. While waiting for the tow truck, the officers investigated the vehicle and discovered that the inspection sticker was altered and did not belong to the suspect’s vehicle. October 2, 2012: 1. Boston Police responded to reports of an assault and battery on Phipps Street on. Upon arrival, police observed a man lying on the ground bleeding from the face. He was conscious but unable to articulate any facts pertaining to what happened. He was transported to Mass General Hospital for treatment. This investigation is on going. 2. Officers responded to a report of breaking in and entering at 15 Green Street. Employees informed officers that when they arrived to work, it was clear that someone had entered the building. It was announced Monday that Suffolk Superior Court, which handles cases in Boston, will have special court sessions in October to deal with cases in which a so-called "rogue chemist" may have tainted evidence.
The state announced on Monday its latest move to deal with the unprecedented scandal out of the State Drug Lab in Jamaica Plain. Suffolk Superior Court will host a series of sessions dedicated to cases affected by the lab crisis, said Jake Wark, spokesperson for the Suffolk County District Attorney. So-called "rogue chemist" Annie Dookhan is alleged to have tainted evidence in thousands of cases. She was arrested on Friday on charges of obstruction of justice and falsely claiming a degree from UMass Boston. She pleaded not guilty and was freed on $10,000 bail.
