Boston Police are investigating an incident that occurred in Charlestown at around 10:18 p.m. Tuesday night.
Boston Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man on Monument Street that occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday night. Police received a call at around 10:18 p.m. reporting that a person had been shot in the area of 92 Monument St. When officers arrived at the scene, they observed a black male lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound, a BPD public information officer said Wednesday. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No further information was available about either the victim or the person or persons who may have shot him. The Boston First Responders Fund has been established by our city's first responders to benefit the victims of the Boston Marathon attacks. "(The Boston Marathon) was a sad day for the city of Boston, our state and our nation,” said Edward Kelly, president of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts, via press release. “(Patriots' Day) we cared for the victims and today we want to take care of them moving forward. Two of the Boston Police Department officers featured on TNT's "Boston's Finest" reality show executive produced by Donnie Wahlberg spoke about having cameras following them, being on television, charity work and the New Kids on the Block. Ryan Mason, 34, from West Roxbury, and Skye Robinson, 32, from Roxbury, met up with Patch at Boston Police Headquarters at the same time. Patch: What unit are you in? Mason: Fugitive Unit—citywide. Jewelry, Safes Stolen in House Breaks Several pieces of jewelry and a lock box were stolen from a home on Brighton Street on Thursday, Feb. 21. The homeowner told police he left home at around 7 a.m. and returned at around 5 p.m. to find the front door ajar. Inside, he found that numerous jewelry containers had been spread out across the bed. A gray lock box and various pieces of jewelry were reported missing. Boston Police are investigating an incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon in which the victim's cell phone and wallet were stolen.
Boston Police are looking for two suspects after one of them allegedly bit a woman before taking off with her cell phone and wallet on Tuesday afternoon. The victim, a woman in her 20s, told police she was walking on Green Street near High Street in Charlestown at around 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19 when she was approached by two men who asked her for a cigarette. The woman was about to give the man a cigarette when he reportedly grabbed her cell phone, wallet and a Walgreens bag from her hands, then bit her left arm. A second suspect then yelled "Just grab the cell phone!," according to reports. "A witness in the area attempted to grab the suspects to no avail. Apparently, catching car thieves and fishing are more similar than you think. Thanks to a donation to the Boston Police Department, detectives will now be using a special kind of "bait"—a 2000 Honda Civic—to catch car thieves in the city. The choice of a 2000 Honda Civic was deliberate, as this vehicle type is listed as the most stolen car in Massachusetts. In Boston in 2012, 1,575 cars were reported stolen, according to the Boston Police Department, with 40 thefts reported in Charlestown's A-15 district. The car was a donation from the National Insurance Crime Bureau, which lists the 1998 Honda Civic as the most stolen vehicle in Massachusetts, according to the most recent statistics.
