1. Mostly sunny: Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 41 degrees and an evening low around 18, according to the National Weather Service. 2. Pan-Mass signups: Registration opens today for new riders interested in participating in the Pan-Mass Challenge. Now in its 34th year, the annual cross-commonwealth bike-a-thon raises money for cancer research and treatment programs at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. There are routes for all ages and skill levels, ranging from 27 miles to 111 miles. Last year, 48 Charlestown residents raised more than $278,000 for the cause. Volunteers needed: The Friends of the Charlestown Library is looking for volunteers to help with their RIF program on Jan. 24.
