The police station in Charlestown is the only substation in the city of Boston -- large enough to handle a variety of calls from Charlestown but compact enough to suit the smallest neighborhood in the city. Cars are dispatched from the station to other parts of Boston but several patrol officers who spend their hours exclusively in Charlestown are also based out of the station.
