Weekend Agenda: Environmental Film Festival, Power Push and Terrorism Awareness Course

The great thing about living in Boston is there’s always something to do on the weekend. To help you decide just how to spend your Saturday and Sunday, Patch has rounded up a few happenings in Charlestown and nearby.

SATURDAY, AUG. 3

• Terrorism Awareness Course—9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Krav Maga Yashir Boston, 200 Terminal St., Charlestown. $150/day or $250 for both days. Counter terrorism expert David Ashworth will conduct a two-day seminar on terrorism awareness with a mix of classroom-style learning and hands-on training looking at terrorist threats and how to recognize the potential signs of an attack.
• Visit the USS Constitution—10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Learn more at ussconstitutionmuseum.org.
• Unleashed Customer Appreciation Day—11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Unleashed by Petco, 5 Austin St., Charlestown (in the Bunker Hill Mall). Free. Enjoy giveaways, including samples and treats, help out with a donation drive to support the Animal Rescue League and the Northeast Animal Shelter and participate in kids’ activities.
• Greenway Open Market—11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Shop a variety of handmade and locally produced fine art, jewelry crafts, ceramics, apparel and accessories as well as handmade imports that are fair trade or eco-friendly. • “e” inc. Boston Enviro-Film Festival—11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Building 114, 114 16th St., Charlestown Navy Yard. $5 per person. • 99th Annual Saint Agrippina Feast—1-11 p.m. on Hanover Street in the North End. Enjoy a variety of musical performances, including a free concert by R&B band All-4-One at 8:30 p.m., plus food, games and more. 

SUNDAY, AUG. 4

• Ironman Jerry Bowser Power Push—2 p.m. at Sullivan’s Pub, 85 Main St., Charlestown. Free. Come watch Ironman Jerry Bowser, aka “The Boston Brawler,” attempt to power push a wheelbarrow weighing 2,000 pounds a total of 210 yards. The event is being held in honor of Boston Marathon bombing victims JP and Paul Norden.

• Sunday Movies in the Park—7-9 p.m. at Christopher Columbus Park, Atlantic Avenue, North End. The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park is offering a free summer movies series. The Aug. 4 film would be “Karate Kid” (1984), according to a listing on NorthEndWaterfront.com.
