Boston Shines Arrives in Charlestown on Saturday

Neighbors and volunteers will clean up John Harvard Mall park this weekend.

Charlestown residents are invited to help clean-up portions of the neighborhood this weekend. 

As part of the Boston Shines initiative, Charlestown neighbors are encouraged to take part in the annual spring cleanup of the John Harvard Mall

The cleanup will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 10. Those who attend are asked to bring their own rakes and brooms if possible.

The John Harvard Mall park, located at 18 Main St. in Charlestown, is open to the public and was built by Harvard University in the 1940s. It is now run by the city of Boston and comprises several trees, as well as a playground, fences, painted gates and light poles.
