VIDEO: Climbing the Bunker Hill Monument

Charlestown Patch joined local resident Elena Barbera on Day 29 of her 30-day challenge to raise $8,820 for Boston Marathon bombing victims.

Charlestown Patch joined Charlestown resident Elena Barbera on Day 29 of her 30-day climb of the Bunker Hill Monument, Tuesday, May 21, to raise money for the 14 victims of the Boston Marathon bombing who are now amputees. Local resident and 2013 Boston Marathoner Jack Kelly also joined the climb. Click on the video above to hear Elena talk about the project and offer some tips for climbing the monument's 294 steps (as of Wednesday, she will have climbed 8,820 steps over the past month, so she's kind of an expert).

Then move your mouse finger over to Elena's GoFundMe page and add your donation. All proceeds will help support the recovery of people who lost limbs in the April 15 bombings.
