Charlestown's Ludwig Helps Make HomeStart a Home Run

Approximately $400,000 raised to help end homelessness.

Charlestown resident Nancy Ludwig attended HomeStart’s 5th annual gala which raised more than $400,000 for the Boston-based non-profit whose mission is to end and prevent homelessness. Ludwig is a member of HomeStart’s Board of Directors.

Boston Red Sox Catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, a HomeStart supporter, joined co chairs William Boynton and Jeff Conway, both members of HomeStart’s board, in heading up this year’s gala. Saltalamacchia was not present at the event due to a Red Sox game versus the New York Yankess in New York, but he sent his best wishes through a video played at the event with the clear message that HomeStart programs work toward ending homelessness and asks guests to support the organization

More than 350 guests attended the event held at the JFK Library on Sept. 7. The Gala’s honorees were Marianne Ajemian, longtime board member and partner at Nutter, McLennan & Fish and Richard Holbrook, President and CEO of Eastern Bank Corporation.
