Candidates at a Glance: Teri Muscarella

The final candidate to jump into the Race for the “Honorary Mayor” title is none other than Teri Muscarella, another lifelong Townie who loves this town, and fondly remembers part of her youth hanging out at the local Girls Club, taking dance lessons at “Miss Ellen’s” (a shared memory of many a young girl who grew up here). Teri claims her Irish Roots from her mothers side of the family. Her Mom, Noreen Mahoney, grew up in Roxbury and later moved to Charlestown when she married Teri's father, Louis Muscarella. Her great-grandmothers last name was Reilly, and she came from County Claire, Ireland. Teri has 4 sisters who will be helping her along the campaign trail (yes, even the one who lives in Florida will be part of her enlisted staff). Her daughter Malorie “Mahoney” Doherty who has roots in Donegal, Ireland from Clonmany and Malin Head, will have a big incentive to help her mother with the campaign as she will more than likely accompany her to Ireland if she becomes the “Mayor." Teri currently resides in Mishawum Park and is an active Board Member for the Mishawum Park Tenants Association. Teri is also a motivational speaker for breast cancer and continues to encourage women by speaking at conferences and fundraisers about her own battle. Stay tuned to Teri on Facebook where she will post any news about her campaign and events or by calling her at (617) 242-2682. Again, good luck to her and to all the candidates, who have from now until the night of June 12th to sell their tickets to win the seat.

The winner of the 2014 Mayor of Charlestown Race will be announced on Friday, June 13 during the "Night Before" Banquet at the Knights of Columbus. For tickets to the event, contact Doc Sheehan at (617) 242-0180.
