Candidates at a Glance: Kelliegh Harrington

Another lifelong resident jumping into the race for Mayor is Kelliegh Harrington, whose Irish Roots stem from County Cork, extending back to her great grandmother who came here at the age of 10 and her great grandfather (also from Cork), who came over at the age of 15. Kelliegh is the eldest daughter of Sharon (Cahill) and Cat Harrington with 3 siblings. In addition to being the mother of three children, Noah age 14, Alyssa age 13 and Kaelyn age 11, she found time to become President of the Charlestown Youth Football & Cheering League with all of its 225 participants. Prior to assuming this position, she was also a coach for many years, in addition to working at Jenny's Pizza for about 10 years. Kelliegh believes in the importance of keeping kids busy in sports or other activities and she will be a crusader for that cause. When asked who she would take to Ireland if she wins, she stated that she would donate her trip to Charlestown Youth Football & Cheering League – so that the organization can raffle the trip to raise funds for itself. We wish you luck Kelliegh! You will have the chance to buy her tickets to help her become the next Charlestown Honorary Mayor by visiting her page on Facebook (Kelliegh Harrington for "Mayor of Charlestown" or calling (617) 233-5813.

The winner of the 2014 Mayor of Charlestown Race will be announced on Friday, June 13 during the "Night Before" Banquet at the Knights of Columbus. For tickets to the event, contact Doc Sheehan at (617) 242-0180.
