Karen McLaughlin, Principal of St. John School in the North End Elected to Serve as an Overseer of the North Bennet Street School

St. John School is pleased to announce that Principal, Karen McLaughlin was elected to serve as an Overseer of the North Bennet Street School at their December annual meeting.  The Committee of Overseers joins the 25-member Board of Directors in leading and advising the school.  They participate as program advisors for the eight full-time programs and both the Board of Directors and the Committee of Overseers include business and cultural leaders as well as North Bennet Street School alumni.  

About the North Bennet Street School
Established in 1885 as a social-service and career-training center, North Bennet Street School (www.nbss.edu) is a North End institution and one of the country’s leading schools devoted to the teaching and preservation of traditional craftsmanship. Craft programs include carpentry, furniture making, bookbinding, piano repair, violin making, locksmithing, jewelry making and repair.  The school regularly draws students from across the U.S. and around the world. A key part of its mission is to provide job skills to the working poor.
