Christmas Classic Hockey Tourney Enters 11th Year

Event to stretch from Dec. 9 through Dec. 11.

This year marks the eleventh Annual Dan McGoff Memorial  Christmas Classic Hockey Tournament hosted by Charlestown Youth Hockey, and organizers expect plenty of spectators.

The tournament will be held on December 9-11 at the Emmons Horrigan O’Neill Rink, the home of Charlestown Youth Hockey, and organizers expect teams from South Boston, Dedham, Waltham, Cambridge, Wellesley and other towns to attend.

This tournament is held in honor and in memory of Dan McGoff, who spent many years mentoring young hockey players, coaches and parents about the finer points of youth hockey.

According to Alfred Carrier, McGoff exemplified how one person can make a big difference by giving back to a non-profit, community based, youth program.

The event will include food from Edie’s Snack Shack and desserts from a bake sale as well raffles.
