Healthcare Scholarship Deadline Approaching for Charlestown Students

Charlestown students have until May 15 to apply; decisions will be made by June 1.

Students in Charlestown have two weeks remaining to apply for $6,000 in scholarships from affiliates of Partners HealthCare. 

Massachusetts General Hospital Charlestown HealthCare Center, MGH Institute of Health Professions and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlestown have joined together to offer two high school students from Charlestown about $6,000 in scholarships. 

The scholarships are to be awarded to students who plan on enrolling in a program of study leading to a health career at the associate degree level or higher, according to MGH Institute of Health Professions

The application deadline has been extended to Thursday, May 15, according to a recent announcement, and applicants will be notified of the final decision of a selection committee by June 1.

Only first-year, first-degree students are eligible, and those who apply must fit the following metrics:

  • Be a current Charlestown resident or a resident who previously lived in Charlestown for at least two years. 
  • Have achieved a minimum 2.75 high school GPA at the time of their application.
  • Have demonstrated a commitment to community service in Charlestown.
