Charlestown Student Vying for Hood Scholarship

Residents can vote for candidates on the Hood website, with national winners receiving $5,000.

There are plenty of student-athletes in the halls of Charlestown High School deserving of recognition. 

And one student in particular is close to receiving that recognition, thanks to the annual Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship Program. But he needs the community's help.

One Charlestown student is a finalists for the national award, which will give the 18 winning entries $5,000 each.

Residents are encouraged to vote for the winner now through April 18 at 3 p.m. Each entry includes an essay on why the participant should be selected for the scholarship.
