Mass Audubon Bringing Wild Tales to the Branch Library, Being Healthy at Whole Foods

Events in Charlestown.

• Wild Tales with Mass Audubon will be happening today from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Event Room of the Charlestown Branch of the Boston Public Library, 179 Main St. Recommended for ages 3 and up, this 30-minute class features a naturalist-educator from Mass Audubon and a furry, feathery, or scaly friend. Children will listen to a picture book about an animal and then meet the star of the story. In keeping with Mass Audubon's wild animal policies, touching is not allowed, but we will be able to watch and ask questions. Please email lmiller@bpl.org to reserve a place for your child as this is a popular event. 

• Healthy living begins at the Whole Foods, 51 Austin St. with the store's Health Starts Here program which helps educates customers about the benefits eating well can do for your overall health. It's not hard or confusing and our own Healthy Eating Specialist, Hannah, will help with funs tore tours! Today will be a "Protein for Your Plate" tour from 6 p.m. to  6:30 p.m. In between, the store is showcasing the HSH program with a storewide event, Fuel for Thought, from 3 p.m. to  5 p.m. Sign up at the Customer Service desk in the store or visit wfmcharlestown.eventbrite.com to sign up. • The Charlestown branch library will be hosting Mighty Movers (ASD) from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the events room. This 30-minute class for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder features high quality gross motor equipment and a professional coach from Knucklebones. Children will play and have fun while exercising and practicing their social and communication skills. Recommended for ages 4-7. An adult or caregiver must participate with each child. Preregistration is encouraged but not required; email lmiller@bpl.orgto let us know that you and your child will be joining us.
