Warren Picks Up Globe, MetroWest Daily News Endorsements

Paper's endorse Warren with a little more than a week to go before the election.

Elizabeth Warren picked up two key endorsements Sunday, with editorial boards at the Boston Globe and MetroWest Daily News throwing their support behind the democratic challenger to Republican Senator Scott Brown.

"Warren has strong opinions and firm principles, but her support for filibuster reform and her record on regulatory reform indicate she is going to the Senate to get things done, not just strike political poses. She will be an important vote in the short-term and a vital voice in the nation’s debate for years to come," wrote the Daily News editorial board.

The Globe, meanwhile, dinged Brown for what they say was dithering on major issues until the matter was settled.

"As a political moderate, Brown has major clout in a polarized Senate — but Massachusetts has too little to show for it. The problem is less with Brown’s political skills, which are obvious, or his centrist values, than in his conception of the job. He often seems to view being a senator as an exercise in political positioning," wrote the Globe.

As the race enters its final stage, Brown spent his week collecting endorsements of his own, picking up nods from the Boston Herald, Cape Cod Time and Quincy Patriot Ledger.

Shocker here - Professor Warren article front and center on The Patch. The biased attitude of this site is gross. Take your agenda elsewhere Editors!!

Sure Joseph. They're biased and THEY should go elsewhere. I suppose they've also got you in some sort of Clockwork Orange-type rig forcing you to follow the Patch. It's a shame they forgot to take away your keyboard to prevent you from incessantly attempting to browbeat them into reporting to your liking.

You are absolutely right Jay. I don't know what brings me back. Maybe it has to do with when The Patch started in Charlestown, it was more about local events. Don't you remember? If you don't see the specific tone and biased of their coverage, and how they have intermingled all communities into our local page, I'm shocked. I know you've only been in town for a year or so, but believe it or not, The Charlestown Patch used to be less political and much more relevant to Charlestown current events. That IS my point.

I hope now that we have a devasting storm upon us, people will remember that Romney wanted to dump FEMA and put the expense onto each State......as if they can afford it all alone. Like in Katrina, the tornado in Joplin and area's that have been totally devastated.

We also reported on the Scott Brown endorsements. Here is that article. On balance, I'd say we try to keep it as balanced as a Blue State can be. http://charlestown.patch.com/articles/scott-brown-picks-up-endorsement-from-former-mass-gov-weld-be4da5b4
