City officials will hold a public hearing in Charlestown Tuesday night on the proposed Wynn Casino.
Discussions of a large casino resort in Everett across the bridge from Charlestown's Sullivan Square have been ongoing, with representatives of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission deeming Las Vegas-based Wynn Resorts "suitable" to obtain a casino license in eastern Massachusetts in December. About 60 percent of the casino’s estimated traffic would come by way of Sullivan Square in Charlestown.
This weeks' hearing will begin at 6 p.m. at Charlestown High School, 240 Medford St. in Charlestown. Officials are aiming to protect the interests of the public by ensuring the integrity of legalized gaming, according to the City of Boston's website.
Materials relating to the meeting and the proposed casino can be found at the Boston Public Library's Charlestown branch.
Area residents can also submit comments on the city of Boston's website.
