Get Out To Vote: Prelims for Boston Mayor, District Councilor Today

The election will pare down the number of candidates for the general election in November.

It's election day in Boston! Well, at least the preliminary elections.

Polls in Boston will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Charlestown residents, all of whom live in Boston's Ward 2, will be voting at the following locations:

  • Districts 1 and 2—Zelma Lacey House, 9 West School St. Voting takes place in the community room.
  • Districts 2 and 4—Harvard-Kent Elementary School, 50 Bunker Hill St. 
    Voting takes place in the gymnasium. 
  • Districts 5 and 6—Clarence R. Edwards Middle School, 28 Walker St.
    Enter through the rear entrance from Eden Street. Voting takes in the gymnasium. 
  • District 7— 382 Main St. Voting takes place in the building.

Those running for the City Council from District 1 are:
  • John Ribeiro Jr 
  • Salvatore LaMattina 
  • Brian J Gannon

Below is the following order for the at-large Boston city councilor preliminary on Sept. 24. The eight candidates with the most votes will advance to the Nov. 5 final to determine the four at-large positions. Incumbents Ayanna Pressley and Stephen Murphy are seeking reelection.
