Editor's Note: The following article has been updated to clarify that the Massachusetts Gaming Commission's meeting is on Wednesday, March 26, and not Tuesday, March 25 as originally reported.

Residents from the Charlestown area will have a chance to take part in a public input meeting on Wednesday regarding the proposed Wynn Casino in Everett.

The proposed casino resort in Everett would be located across the bridge from Charlestown's Sullivan Square; by which about 60 percent of the casino’s estimated traffic would travel.

The Charlestown Neighborhood Council plans to submit a letter to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission opposing the proposal, according to the Charlestown Patriot-Bridge, which also reported that the Charlestown Preservation Society is urging residents to attend the hearing Wednesday or, as an alternative, submit a letter opposing the project.

The Gaming Commission will hold the open meeting in Room 104 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center at 415 Summer St. starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 26. Below is the current agenda for the meeting.

Agenda: Public Meeting - #115

  • Call to Order
  • Input from members of the community regarding Wynn MA, LLC's application for a Category 1 Gaming License in Everett, MA (In order to use the available time efficiently, the Gaming Commission asks that speakers limit their comments to five minutes.)
  • Other business -- reserved for matters the Chair did not reasonably anticipate at the time of posting.

Is the meeting on Tuesday or Wednesday? I am confused.

Hi Toby - thanks for the comment. Apologies for the confusion; you are correct, the meeting is Wednesday. I just made a correction in the article. Thanks again!
