Charlestown to Benefit from Boston's FY15 City Budget

The Charlestown Pool, Navy Yard and Caldwell Street Playground are expected to receive funding.

Charlestown is set to receive several benefits from Boston Mayor Martin Walsh's proposed $2.7 billion budget for the Fiscal year 2015. 

The budget's five-year $1.9 billion capital plan looks to allot $2.7 million for renovations to the Charlestown Pool's boathouse as well as its pool shells and mechanical systems, according to the Charlestown Patriot-Bridge

In addition, about $375,000 is proposed for the Charlestown Navy Yard Pier 11's fender system improvements, while Pier 4 is set to receive $2,511,000 for infrastructure improvements, according to the report.

The Shipyard Park Public, Engine 50 Firehouse and the Caldwell Street Playground are also expected to receive funding for various efforts.
