Charlestown Neighborhood Council Cancels Nov. 16 Precinct Elections

Single candidates in five precinct and a lack of them in precincts 6 and 7 made elections unnecessary.

Charlestown Neighborhood Council has announced today, Nov. 11 that precinct elections scheduled for later this week have been cancelled. 

The election was scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16.

In accordance with the CNC bylaws, according to Election chair Barbara Babin, where there is only one candidate for each precinct position, she will propose to the council the candidates be voted into the Council in lieu of a public election which is taking place in precincts one through five.

In precincts 6 and 7, the current incumbents have chosen not to run for re-election. As such, anyone wishing to be considered as a candidate for these seats should contact Babin at 617-275 6868 or via email at barbarababin@comcast.net" barbarababin@comcast.net for nomination papers. Nomination papers with signatures from 25 individuals living in the respective precinct will need to be submitted no later than December 13, 2013.
