Charlestown officials and citizens gathered earlier this month to honor Massachusetts State Rep. Eugene L. O'Flaherty (D-Chelsea), according to the Charlestown Patriot-Bridge

Members of the community attended an event on Feb. 7 at the Knights of Columbus in Charlestown to celebrate O'Flaherty's recent appointment as Boston's Corporation Counsel. O'Flaherty represents the Second Suffolk District of Massachusetts, which includes Charlestown and the majority of Chelsea.

O'Flaherty was named as corporation counsel last month amid several appointments made by new Mayor Martin Walsh, and he said in late January that he doesn’t feel the need to prove himself as the city's in-house attorney, according to the Boston Herald
