Robbery Victim Speaks Out About Attack

The woman who was assaulted after leaving the T station on Saturday talked with WHDH reporters yesterday.

The woman attacked last Saturday while walking home from the Orange Line T station in Charlestown spoke about the incident to WHDH Channel 7 News yesterday.

The 28-year-old victim, identified by WHDH as “Michaela,” told reporters that she had just left the Bunker Hill Community College MBTA station at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24 when a man wearing a winter coat with the hood up approached her. She knew immediately something was wrong.

“There was nowhere for me to go. It was dark, and I was alone,” she told WHDH.

The man sprayed her in the face with mace, punched her in the eye and face and, when she didn’t fall down, began kicking her until she did, Michaela told reporters. Even while she was on the ground, the man continued to kick her and pull her hair.

She said she didn’t know the man’s intentions so she kept fighting back.

In the end, it appeared that all he wanted was her purse, which he grabbed and then took off through the parking lot.

The victim ran through the parking lot after him and called for help, but no one came, she said. Eventually, she went into a nearby restaurant and people there helped her call police, she said.

According to Boston Police reports, the man got into a gray minivan and drove away up School Street toward Main Street. He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black jacket.

Police said the incident occurred behind the 99 Restaurant in the Bunker Hill Shopping Plaza on Austin Street.

Police are investigating.

Anyone with further information about this incident is asked to call BPD District A-1 detectives at 617-343-4571.
